All the pages were certainly full at the origin but several have been removed since. In the first volume there are 145 pages recto-verso containing in all 842 plates, all are hand coloured with their 842 relevant texts. all these plates are on Coleoptera. In the second volume there are 147 pages recto-verso containing in all 752 plates, all are hand coloured and 751 relevant texts (there is one missing text for the plate 97.14). 102 plates on Orthoptera and Hymenoptera are from the HERRICH-SCHAEFFER's supplement. There are 504 plates on Coleoptera, 69 on Orthoptera-dermaptera, and 179 on Hymenoptera. In all 1594 plates.
